Meet the DJ

Ed Petty, Owner of Ed Petty Productions
My interest in becoming a DJ began about age 10. Back then Ron Chapman's broadcast was televised live and I would arrange cardboard boxes resembling my own studio in front of the television. I would put on my giant headphones and pretend to be the on-air disc jockey. At age 17 that dream became a reality when I stepped into the DJ booth at my family's roller skating rink, Broadway Skateland in Mesquite, TX. From there I began entertaining in various clubs around the Metroplex. In 1987 I joined the Navy and served for 11 years. While in the Navy, I stayed active in entertainment by co-hosting a nightly news/variety television show on the USS Valley Forge. In 1999, I moved to the social side of this business and founded Ed Petty Productions.
I have provided entertainment in the DFW area and beyond for almost every type of event imaginable. I enjoy watching people have fun and interact with one another. I think one of the most important aspects of my success as a mobile DJ is my love for and knowledge of music and my ability to read a crowd. I conduct my business with a strong attention to detail, solid organization, honesty, integrity, and a personal interest in my clients.
I met my wife and business partner, Collette, at church and we married in October 1997. Our four kids are yours, mine, and ours…Max, Lindsay, and our twin boys Jonathan and Benjamin. If I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family.
Just for fun...
